Pixie Lott & Anton Powers – Baby

After a short break away from music, British singer-songwriter Pixie Lott is back with a bang and drops her brand new single Baby this Friday!

Pixie has teamed up with DJ Anton Powers for Baby, an uplifting dance smash that is sure to be all over the dancefloors this Summer. The 26-year-old, who has scored three #1’s and sold over 1.6 million albums worldwide, is back to what she does best and this is proof that she is one of the best vocalists the UK has to offer.

Speaking of the single, Pixie added:

“I’ve been away in the studio for the past few months and I can’t wait for my fans to hear everything I’ve been working on – it feels like a new chapter for me. I had a lot of fun working with Anton on Baby. We first met years ago when he remixed my song Gravity but we bumped into each other in Ibiza last Summer and I knew he was someone I wanted to work with again.”

Pixie and Anton will premiere Baby on TV this coming weekend with a very special performance on ITV’s The Voice Final. Baby will also be launched to radio and clubs the same weekend so will undoubtedly start rising up the airplay and streaming charts in the coming weeks.

During her break, Pixie showed no signs of slowing down. She spent months in the studio, quietly working on her fourth studio album due for release in 2018. Always keen to broaden her talents, she also made a move into acting, starring as Holly Golighty in Breakfast At Tiffany’s to rave reviews. She also turned her attention to fashion, making her catwalk debut at the Dolce & Gabbana A/W show last month and shooting for international titles Paper and US Esquire, out this month. She was also announced as a Coach on the first season of The Voice Kids, alongside and Danny Jones, which hits our screens this Summer.

Pixie has delivered 3 UK number-one singles, sold over four million tracks, embarked on numerous worldwide tours, sold 1.6 million albums worldwide and written songs for some of the world’s biggest stars including Selena Gomez. Pixie has collaborated with legendary artists including Stevie Wonder and John Legend. Her songs have been used as the soundtrack to countless movies and she has received in excess of 65 million YouTube views. She is a four-time BRIT Award nominee and the winner of two MTV European Music Awards.

Anton is one of the UK’s most in demand DJs and producers and has rocked some of the biggest venues and festivals in the world including Amnesia, Pacha, Creamfields and Tomorrowland. His collaboration with Philip George on Alone No More reached #4 on the Official Singles Chart and clocked up over 400,000 sales and 27 million streams on Spotify alone. Anton’s recent album Power House topped the UK Compilation Charts earlier this month. As a member of Cahill, he has remixed for some of the world’s biggest artists including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Cheryl and Ellie Goulding.

Alma – Chasing Highs

Stream/download here:

Alma’s extraordinary soulful voice and sharply observed lyrics hit somewhere between Sia and Amy Winehouse. Perhaps understandably the world wants to know where and the how the 21-year-old Finnish powerhouse (currently working with MNEK, Rudimental, Charlie XCX, Sub Focus and 2 Inch Punch) began her career in music. “I don’t think I ever really started,” Alma recalls:

“It’s just when I was little, I understood that singing made me feel things. It made me feel safe, it made me feel good, it made me feel better. It’s how I’ve survived everything, cliché as that sounds.”

Alma needn’t worry about clichés: with her long, electric-neon hair, baggy punk attire and ‘zeros fucks’ magnetic attitude she is everything but the stereotypical pop princess.

“She looks like a cybergoth reimagining of a young Adele and sounds like Beth Ditto had she been raised on tropical house…”

…The Observer wrote recently – they hit the nail on the head.

Germany’s Sony/ATV Music Publishing heard the demos and immediately signed her. But “Finns are naturally pessimistic” Alma explains, so she didn’t let herself get too hopeful. She also wasn’t sure if she was going to be a songwriter or a performer. “But in time, I started to understand that people were really digging my voice and my words together.” She signed with Universal, but still didn’t believe she could break outside of Northern Europe until “my managers and I showed my songs to the Universal UK team and to Republic (now her US label) in New York, and they were like, ‘Fuck yeah!’” Alma’s debut EP, 2016’s Dye My Hair, makes it pretty obvious why, with three euphoric and intricate productions (and one acoustic version) bolstered by her phenomenal voice.

‘Chasing Highs’ is out now.

offaiah – Run

OFFAIAH, the enigmatic producer who rose to prominence last year with the definitive club track of the summer, ‘Trouble’, makes his highly anticipated return this March with ‘Run’.

A kaleidoscope of sound, ‘Run’ entices from the start leading with a piano heavy melody and an infectious flute hook, cementing it as another bonafide floor-filler for the anonymous producer.

Last summer, ‘Trouble’ lit up dancefloors across the world from Ibiza to London to Miami to Cape Town with exceptional momentum. But the record’s success was not confined to nightclub walls – ‘Trouble’ went on to pick up more than 20 million streams and over 350 plays on BBC Radio 1 from all the key tastemakers including Annie Mac, Danny Howard, Pete Tong, Huw Stephens, Grimmy, Clara Amfo and Greg James.

OFFAIAH’s sophomore single ‘Run’ is set to be another dancefloor hit for this summer.

Gryffin & Illenium – Feel Good (ft. Daya)

Last year, L.A.-based producer Gryffin delivered two heavy-hitting singles that showcased his deeply melodic take on dance music. With both tracks built on a graceful fusion of indie and electronic elements, “Heading Home (ft. Josef Salvat)” shot to #1 on Spotify’s US and Global Viral charts, while “Whole Heart” (a collaboration with Bipolar Sunshine) hit #2 on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist. Also known for turning out several of the biggest remixes in recent years—including his masterly reworkings of Tove Lo’s “Talking Body,” CHVRCHES’ “Clearest Blue,” and Years & Years’ “Desire”—Gryffin is now offering up his latest original track and bringing his boundary-shattering artistry to bold new heights.

Emotionally charged and irresistibly high-energy, the aptly named “Feel Good” is powered by hypnotic melody, massive beats, and a magnetic vocal performance from singer/songwriter Daya. Fresh off her Grammy Award win for “Don’t Let Me Down” (the multi-platinum smash that earned 2017’s Best Dance Recording prize), Daya lends her soulful vocals to Gryffin’s immaculate arrangement of heavy synth and delicate guitar work. In crafting that arrangement, Gryffin drew equally from his edgy ingenuity as a producer and his carefully honed musicality as a longtime guitarist and classically trained pianist.

“The lyrics that Daya came up with had so much intensity to them—writing about that significant other in your life who puts you in a positive, happy state of mind, even when bad things may be happening in your life or in the world. I wanted the production to reflect that intensity, but at the same time create a really positive vibe…”

…explains Dan Griffith, who’s made music under the name Gryffin since 2014. “My goal with the song was to find that balance, and I ended up hitting it by adding a lot of synth sounds I’d never used before, and by bringing in different guitar textures and then flipping them in a new way. That’s what the Gryffin project is about overall: making electronic music but using real guitar and real piano so that there’s this organic feeling to every song.”

Originally from the San Francisco area, Gryffin began his musical journey by taking up piano at age seven. In high school he added guitar to his repertoire in addition to writing his own music for the first time. While studying electrical engineering at University of Southern California, Gryffin broadened his sonic palette by diving into the world of electronic music and teaching himself production with a downloaded copy of Ableton. “I got started during a really exciting time for electronic music — I remember thinking I’d never heard sounds like that before,” recalls Gryffin, who lists the early work of artists like Skrillex and Avicii among his first influences. “It all felt so fresh and new to me, and I wanted to see if I could make music like that too.”

‘Feel Good’ is out now to stream and download.
